Nokia, the cell phone giant has come up with its very own mini laptop, Booklet 3G. The world’s biggest cell phone manufacturer has just released its Netbook, announcing its presence in the fast growing mini laptop market.
Nokia which experienced depletion in its profit sharing since tough competition from mobile phone brands like Sony Ericsson, Samsung, LG and Motorola is now going to go for the laptop market share. Netbook brands Dell, Acer and Asus have big time competition in the presence of Nokia, which has tremendous goodwill in the market.
Features of Nokia Booklet 3G: The 2 centimeter thin Booklet 3G has a 10" glass HD ready display. Weighing 1.25 kg, the Netbook is fitted in an aluminum frame. Nokia Booklet 3G features full-size SHIFT keys similar to laptop keyboards and has protruding black keys. The Netbook has an HDMI port for HD video-out, a front-facing camera for video calling, integrated Bluetooth and SD card reader. You can also make calls because there is a SIM card slot which is swappable. The Netbook comes with an onboard GPS chip and Ovi Maps preinstalled
Processor and Operating System: Nokia Booklet 3G will run on windows. However one does not clearly know which operating system, it will run on. It does look that the Netbook will run on Windows 7 Starter Edition, which is due for October 22 launch. The Nokia Booklet 3G has up to 12 hours of battery life and is powered by Intel’s Atom processor. There are reports that it will be 1.6GHz Atom Z530 CPU with a 120GB HDD
Screen size: Nokia's Netbook will be HD Ready which means it will have at least 1280x720 pixels on its 10.1-inch screen.
The price of Nokia Netbook: The price of the Netbook seems to be somewhere between Rs. 27000 and Rs. 38000, higher than the cost of Netbooks in India which have a minimum market price of Rs. 16,500.
