A retweet is simply a reply to a tweet that has the original message or a tweet that includes a link to a piece of content, blog post or a news article that you find interesting. Retweets are a part of the communication etiquette of the Twitter community with the intention to make the service easy and make people follow the twitter conversations easily.

How should I retweet?
Retweet is quite easy. If you are tweeting as a reply to a direct message or a tweet, all you have to do is type in your reply, and follow it with a “RT” to signify as a retweet , ‘the user name’ and your original message. So if @deepti asks you ‘did you check out Motorola Cliq ?’ you have to reply ‘pretty good RT@deepti should I buy it?’
If you are retweeting a blog post or news article, just type in your comment and follow it with “RT” and then link to the article. For instance, “This is a great piece of info RT http:
If you are retweeting a news article or blog post, simply type in your comments, follow it with "RT" and then the link to the article. For example, "This is a great article RT http://bit.ly/2roVq".


When should I Retweet?

There are no hard and fast rules about when to retweet but normally you should retweet, when you find something really exciting and noteworthy. For example, if you want to make your followers participate in a conversation or if you find someone’s tweets quite witty, you may retweet.
